It' s obvious to all that TV news in China has experienced great changes since the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee. There is much study concerning about these changes. But more research remains at the level of superficial descriptions with little attention paid to the deep root. "Society development------conception renewing-practice (improvement, reformation)-society development. Thisis an objective law of human history.development. From this law, we can draw the idea that innovation of ideas is the premise of practice and reform". Such great progression of TV news in contemporary China just presupposes the continuous innovation of notions of TV news communication, which derives from social advancement. Based on this rule, the thesis investigates the history of development of TV news during over 20 years since 1978 so as to comb out the innovating topics of notions from the complicated superficial changes: the conception of news noumeno^ audience standard conception /'New" word conception and information conception, and individualy studies the process of their gradual change against the social and historical background.Accordingly, this article consists of four parts.Part I . Who performs the title-role of TV: from entertainment to news. At the begining when TV acted of a high-grade plaything, entertainment was regarded as the main contents on screen. Few people considered TV as an access to important messages. Afterwards, TV news surpassed broadcasting news and press news in the influential power and became the dominance in news communication. However, news replacingother contents as the leading role on TV screen didn' t come true until the end of 20 century. This part deliberates the growth of the conception of news noumenon and demonstrates the inexorable trend to base TV on news.Part II . Audience standard conception: the alteration of "God". Revolving around these three aspects: the production and study of mass communication theories of the west, the presentation and identification of the commercialization of news, the improvement of people's economical conditions and democratic sense, this part explains why the audience standard replaced the propagator standard. And it also cautions against the latent rational tyranny in TV news communication and puts forward the integrated audience standard conception in view of the vital status of TV in the construction of human culture and improvement of social civilization.Part HI. The conception of "New" word: from the time to approach. This section brings forth the conception of "new" word, which holds that the "new" of news not only lies in facts and time but also lies in viewpoint, approach etc. In the early part of 1980s, TV news in China only contained "new" facts, "of which 20% within a week and 70.2% one week ago or without mention of time. " With the advancement of technology and maturity of the sense of rushing for news, TV news basically possessed the "Freshness", namely, new facts as well as rapid report. Later, the technical gap gradually disappeared and everyone' s sense of rushing for news tended to be equal intensity. Then, the plateau phenomenon emerged from the competence of newsbeat in the meaning of time. However, competence for "new" in news has no end. Instead of that, it has been developed in another warsite------approach early.Part IV. The conception of information: from facts to information. The thesis maintains that infornation current in the 1980s, the revolving reform since 1992, andthe discuss at the transition of the thousandyear over tactics of getting the upper hand of the informaion society are the three main causes of the appearance and disappearance of the information conception. Besides, it is proved to be reasonable and scientific to understand information from the angle of dialectical unity of the three indexes: quanti-ty quality redundancy.
