With the development of the network and information technology, smart-house community and house automation is becoming an essential part of the daily life of the people. The construction of the intelligent community will solve the last bottle-neck problem of the network, spread the information highway to the community home and bring the safe, advantageous, economical, comfortable life to the residents.The solution to house automation in the subject is, building a small-scale network with power lines within the home, connected with a remote controlling center in the community manage center through Ethernet or MODEM. In the manage center, the information can be inquired through the Internet. Thus the community will become an opened LAN system.In the subject, Ethernet communication and MODEM communication will be programmed, debugged and tested and the IP protocol group will be embedded into a single-chip computer system. My work focused on the experiments and research of the communication system through power lines based on the spread spectrum theory and analyzed the advantages and main problems of the system. In the last, I integrated the three communication patterns into the home controller, solved the problem of the data transmission and completed a demonstration system.Ethernet technology will be used popularly in the control of the home and community, but the communication system through the low-voltage power lines is still in research. It is predictable that the power line network based on the spread spectrum will be of great significance in the future.
