With the rapid development of communication and the network information technology, intelligent community is becoming an essential part of the daily life of the people. With the advantages of power line communication and Ethernet communication, a new intelligent community system is designed:The power line based on the spread spectrum communication technology is used as a workable correspondence medium within the house, and the house network can communicate with the district Ethernet according to the embedded relay module. This system is economical and practical because it can overcome the power line's shortcoming of distant correspondence and make full use of both power net and district Ethernet.First, the basic principles of power line communication and spread spectrum are introduced. Second, a house network which based on CEBus in the low power line correspondence is built with the drive module made by interface chip of SSC P300 based on the spread spectrum technique. House network is connected to the district Ethernet to communicate with the district manage center by the embedded relay module. At last, practical community-information management software base on Visual Basic 6.0 is designed. It can collect and save the information, and finish the remote management and control of smart-house information and equipments.
