Modern phase array radar (PAR) has been widely used because of its good performance and flexible processing ability. This thesis was written based on the "PHR missile guidance station" development project. We will discuss two subjects in radar field: pulse integration and constant false alarm rate (CFAR). First, we describe the basic concepts of pulse integration and its effect on the signal detection. Three types of pulse integrations are introduced, i.e. video integration, binary integration and frequency domain integration. For the video integration, one and two order feedback integration are discussed and compared. For the binary integration, several useful binary integrators as well as target splitting are introduced. As for the frequency domain integration, it has the advantage in that it can estimate Doppler shift. Then we deal with CFAR, mainly including cell average CFAR, log/cell average CFAR and nonparametric CFAR detection. In this thesis, we also present detailedly the realization of and diagram of the data truncation, DFT processing, CFAR, threshold forming and signal detection in our project. Finally we briefly show the hardware and software used in the system.
