Reseach Of Using Ethernet As Fieldbus

With the development of information and network technology, the demand of exchanging information is rapidly spreading from the management layer of an enterprise to the bottom layer of equipment. Fieldbus control system is a new control system, since its development direction of distribution, network and intelligence. Fieldbus can transfer the equipment needed information through opened and standrad network bus. At the same time, the network node linked to fieldbus has the ability to perform some control functions which are used to be performed on the upper computer. The capability of fleldbus mostly depends on the bottom network technology. Today we have several different fieldbus products, but they can not promise to connect to each other. Finally, most of all -3- fieldbus is connected to Ethernet through gateway since using Ethernet as enterprise network. The author discusses the technology of fieldbus system and the protocol of Ethernet which is simple, ease to realize and flexible. How to use Ethernet as fieldbus is also discussed. For this purpose, at the open systems interconnection(OSI) model 7th layer, add a sub layer: Ethernet fieldbus information regulate layer. As a fieldbus control system, a fieldbus manager for installion, configuration and maintenance is needed. In this paper, the construction and function of Ethernet fieldbus regulate layer is given out, and the simulation of it has been implemented at the same time. At last, the prospect of Ethernet application is given out, automation is on the way of networking with the development of the technology of network.
