This paper describes the design of intelligent-fault-diagnosis instrument for MCU system based on virtual instrument technology, intelligent-fault-diagnosis technology and CPLD technology, and give a set of designing thinking, designing scheme and designing measure.The design for hardware and software corresponds with virtual instrument technology. The core of hardware is implemented by CPLD, which have simple construction, high reliability and high flexibility. The core of system is software. As MCU characteristic, we put forward " emulation diagnosis" and " module diagnosis" , which replace CPU on examined-board through of emulation plug and dispart whole system to five part-control bus, data bus, address bus, memory and I/O. The implement of software use intelligent-fault-diagnosis technology that is combined of exert system and MCU fault-diagnosis.The fault-diagnosis of this system is not only high efficiency but also have excellent interface and high reliability.
