This is a disquisition on Wang Gui-de,a poet between Ming and Qing Dynasties from Rong County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and his poetry anthology,The Remnant of Green Trunk. Wang's anthology Green Trunk contained eight volumes, most of which were lost. The remnant parts of it were compiled into one anthology later, which contained 441 poetries. There are three aspects (portions) in this disquisition. Theauthor discusses the character of Wang, and the backgroud ofsociety and cultrue in Wang's times are introduced and elucidatedbriefly at first. The poetries in The Remnant of Green Trunk arecollated and annotated in the second part. Some of them had beenannotated by someone before. But the range of annotations isexpanded based on known ones. The annotator tries to explain thedifficulties in this ancient anthology, to a standard of intellectof at-least secondary educated readers nowaday. Very few unapt ornonstandard mistakes in annotations before are rectificated orupdated. This is the main part of this thesis. In third part, theauthor discusses the ideology and artistry of the anthology, basedon the author's personal conception and Wang's backgroud. Thehistoric significance of Wang's poetries is pointed out at last, aiming to get a comprehensive cognite on a past poet, and afelicitous evaluate on a historic cultural phenomenon.
