This study investigated and analyzed the sex ideology of young male homosexuals by using the qualitative research methods. The following conclusions were inferred from the analysis of the coded and classified interview with six male homosexuals in Chengdu.1 from the aspect of sexual cognition: the self-appraisal of the young male homosexuals exhibits that their general sexual ideology falls into the category of classic type, while their group sexual ideology has the characteristics of open type. Individual differences exist for this aspect. The subjects'perceptions towards sex are analyzed from the physiological and psychological perspectives. The perception of self and the marriage of the homosexual subgroup are pessimistic, while the attitudes toward heterosexual marriage appear to be positive. The majority report the plan of having offspring, either through adoption or paternity. While most subjects support the idea of living together with their partners and one night stand is prevalent among the homosexual subgroup, the majority oppose the behaviors of SM, 3P, MB. Most hold a neutral view toward people who become MB.2 from the aspect of sexual emotion: young male homosexuals evaluate their ideal sexual partner in terms of their quality, personality and abilities. Appearance is a major source of sexual attraction. Regarding interpersonal relationship, male homosexuals consider other males'friendly physical contact as a signal of affection. But they would disregard similar physical contact from females. Male homosexuals indicate that they would not have an affair with someone other than their regular partners. In case of their partner's affair with a third person, the subjects express higher level of tolerance toward such behavior of their partners than themselves. 3 from the aspect of sexual behaviors: male homosexuals'sexual interaction is based on their affection toward each other. The interaction is mostly reciprocal, fulfilling the desire of both sides. Orgasm is one of the criteria of an ideal same-sex intercourse. The subjects'understanding of sexual knowledge is generated from watching erotic media that are accessed through internet, books, and conversations with friends. Internet is a major input of such knowledge. The role of 1 and 0 are defined by the role the same-sex couples play during intercourse. It is noteworthy that such roles are interchangeable. It is reported that the majority expect to take on an active role in their sexual behavior, and the mutual active participation from both sides is also anticipated. The knowledge about safe sexual conduct is observed in most of the male homosexuals, and the notion that they need to apply protective devices is also present. Although sexual masturbation is prevalent among the young male homosexual group, the frequency of such behavior varies. Most have a scientific understanding of the masturbation behavior, and they understand that such behavior is not detrimental as long as the frequency remains at a reasonable level.4 influential factors: the influential factors for young male homosexuals'sex ideology can be divided into the two elements of subjectivity and environment. These two factors interact with each other and influence one another reciprocally.
