The year of 2015 is a year of great meaning.Ireland became the first country in the world that voted by referendum for legalizing homosexual marriage;later, the United States Supreme Court ruled that gay marriage was applicable to the whole United States.Such situation suggests that homosexual marriage is getting more and more worldwide acceptance. In China, the previous research on gay men was always at a certain point of time, which makes the understanding of this group lack of coherence. In this paper, with the method of qualitative research in the history of a man’s life,we can collect stories occurred from their sexual awakening to the present time, analyze their characteristics in the common in their different stages, summarize in their Protective Factors during the corresponding stage.Through this research,we can obtain the findings that Male homosexuals have some common characteristics as follows: the majority of male homosexuals in their original family always had bad relationships with their fathers;they have delicate perception and rich emotional experience. In the time of sexual initiation, many of them had feelings with girls;sexual orientation actually had little influence on them.In the stage of sexual maturation, they always have very high requirements about their partners, but the relationships are always faced with too much challenge. After they entered society, the things that they care about the most are economic and career. They have to face lots choices, like: public gender orientation or not, have marriage or not,and so on.Compromise is always their choice. The important protective factors in different stages of their lives are: their positive emotions, the school-age evaluation criteria, and the convenience of the networks.
