Story activity is one of the important activities in Kindergarten. The thesis focuses on story activity in kindergarten during early childhood education reformation in China from 1903 to 2003.The context includes the development of the activity aim, the analysis to the story textbooks and the actualization of the activities. The future of the story activity is also mentioned in the end.The aim of story activity is reflected by the curriculum criterion or teaching instruction on the theorists'standpoints and the activity aim or teaching aim implemented by the teacher directly. In general, the process of the aim of story activity developed in China is:located as literature Education→tend to be moral education→emphasize cognitive development→back to literature Education.As for story textbook, all the classical stories portray characters close to young children with the repeat narrative structure and with themes always have a distinct educational purpose. Different editions reflect the educational concept and children concept at different period. The theme of most of the popular stories is "truth" and "virtue", while few is about "beauty" in this hundred years. The characteristic of the change of form of the stories in this 100 years including:the proportion of myth legend,fable and scientific story is dropped while for the fairy tale is raised. Stories about children's life account for a considerable proportion at the earlier years of New China while large scales of historical figures appeared in the 1980's.The thesis also goes through the selection criterion of the kids'stories.The development of the actualization of the story activities includes four phases: Copying foreign countries in the later Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China; Exploration phase in the Old China period; story-teaching model period from the foundation of new China to 1980s and the new period of education reformation on story activity since 1980s.
