For decades, the Senior High School English classroom assessment, known as teacher-centered, has focused on discriminating and choosing better students and neglected the functions of development and encouragement. Students participate in the classroom assessment passively. The situation has been improved because of the New English Curriculum Reform in Senior High School. However, the students'degree and depth of participation in classroom assessment are not actually as good as expected. Whether Quality Education can be carried out effectively in English teaching depends on the new strategies of classroom assessment in Senior High School English Teaching.This paper gives an analysis to the present traditional classroom assessment in Senior High School English Teaching at home and the new theories of learning——Humanism,Constructivism and Multiple Intelligences. According to the characteristics of the English study and the differences between the English language and the Chinese language, the new strategies of classroom assessment are put forward in Senior High School English Teaching under New English Curriculum Reform in Senior High School. Meanwhile, some teaching samples, through attempts and tries, are given here in order to explain how to employ the new strategies of classroom assessment in Senior High School English Teaching.
