This thesis made a status investigation on performance assessment of the new curriculum reform of geography for senior high schools. Therefore, we got a further understanding of the performance assessment and the difficulties in implementing assessment on the basis of the adequate practical survey. Also, we attempt to make a research on the practical module performance assessment system of geography for senior high schools from the perspective of multiple intelligences. Finnaly, according to the status of the performance assessment, I try to provide a case, the workable solutions to the academic assessment of Geography Module for Senior High Schools (Compulsory 3) published by Peoples'Education Press, was proposed. Surrounding the study theme, this thesis consists of six chapters, which are as follows:Chapter 1: Introduction. (1) It describes the development trend of the performance assessment. (2) It also summarizes the research status of the performance assessment national and abroad. (3) The research problems and significances are put forward; the research ideas and methods are also made clear. (4) Finally, it makes a summary of the basic theories on the performance assessment and contrast and differentiates some assessment methods, and so on.Chapter 2: Description of the Theories. (1) The proposal and contents of the multiple intelligences were introduced. (2) It describes the ideas of multiple intelligences assessment. (3) It summarizes the influence of the multiple intelligences theories on Chinese education. (4) At last the relationship between the academic assessment of geography and multiple intelligences theories are analyzed.Chapter 3: Diagnosis for Problems. (1) It makes the research aim clear, specifies research object and introduces study methods. (2) It analyzes the research results and completes the diagnosis for problems.Chapter 4: Theory Deduction. (1) It analyzes the curriculum planning and assessment ideology of the new geography curriculum for senior high schools. (2) It put forwards the module performance assessment strategies of geography for senior high schools. (3) It also deducts the module academic assessment system of geography for senior high schools according to the research results.Chapter 5: concerns case demonstration. (1) It makes attempts to put forward the process assessment and the final assessment of Geography Module for Senior High Schools (Compulsory 3) published by Peoples'Education Press. (2) It discusses the performance assessment scale, the methods and basis for the accreditation of module credits. (3) It discusses a series of problems existed in the process of program implementation. (4) It also proposes some suggestions to assure the smooth implementation of new curriculum academic assessment in accordance with the present situation and the educational practice.
