This paper reports on a study of English classroom teaching activities based on MI Theory. Under the premise of learning about students' intelligences, the author picked out two classes from Tianjin ** High School as experimental classes to carry out the experiment lasting for one semester. The two classes were divided into two types according to students' admission test results: Class 2 is a key class, and Class 4 is an ordinary class. During the experiment, the same teaching methods and materials were used for scientific intervention in the two experimental classes. After the experiment, the author collected and analyzed the data by questionnaires, and the result indicates that: (1) the level of the development of verbal-linguistic intelligence of the two experimental classes has been significantly improved, and other intelligences have also been developed; (2) the students' interest and attitude in English learning and their completion of classroom teaching tasks have also been improved to some extent. Therefore, both experiment results and feedbacks of students showed that classroom teaching activities based on MI Theory helped private high school students improve their verbal-linguistic intelligence and develop other multiple intelligences as well. They also helped students to find and use learning methods and habits that are suitable for them in terms of English learning and rebuild their interest and confidence. In addition, classroom teaching activities based on MI Theory had positive significance in students' overall development and practice of quality education.
