Improving students'ability of adapting themselves to society is a vital goal pointed out in the document Decision on deepening the overall reform of quality-oriented education, as well as the teaching aim of standard of sports and fitness course made by the National Education Department. The period of university is a key part for an individual's development and adjustment to society. How to develop college students'ability of adapting to the society is the most important part of college education, which has a deep relation to a student's self-development and the whole society's stability and prosperity.PE education is a vital part of education. This essay mainly talks about developing students'ability of adapting to society through tennis education. Tennis is one of the most popular sports in the world, which is favored by many celebrated and successful people. It has a long history and complex technical skills. Tennis attracts students'attention with its specific charm and feature. Tennis is a technical skill-dominated course, so it is not easy for a beginner to learn it well. Learning tennis requires cooperation and communication between students and teachers. As a result, Tennis has an advantage of developing students'ability that can't be replaced by other courses.This essay compares students'changes after learning tennis in seven aspects, including the ability of learning, the ability of handling interpersonal relationship, the ability of role adjustment, the ability of choosing occupation, the ability of managing life, the ability of assessing the environment and the performance of mind and body. Researching university's tennis education provides an outline and method for promoting students'ability of adjusting to society. Through the experimental study and open questionnaire, the paper concludes that:1. The student mentiond questions in the open questionnaire most about the interpersonal communication and learning problems, followed by leisure activities and self care, most of the students think that the tennis teaching can impove on these aspects.2. Survey results show that the effects of the tennis teaching are obvious for environment overall recognition/evaluation and psychosomatic symptoms, not obvious for students'adaptive capacity of learning, interpersonal, role, career choices.3. Experimental effect is not obvious, this is relationship with the experimental time, measuring tools, and experimental process controlling. the author think that improving those aspects will make experimental effect better.
