Geometry is an important part in the mathematics teaching in junior high schools. It plays a pivotal role in the mathematics teaching, and is of great significance in the development of students'abilities, such as problem detection, analysis and solving. With the process of the secondary mathematics curriculum reform, it becomes urgent to solve these problems: how to effectively stimulate students'interest and motivation in learning; how to improve their ability to explore; how to sufficiently embody the concept of the mathematics curriculum standards. In this paper, the teaching modes and methods of junior high school geometry in the information technology environment are researched and explored. The main results of the study are as follows:1. The integration of information technology and curriculum, especially the status quo analysis of the information technology and junior high school mathematics integration at home and abroad;2. The theoretical basis exploration of the information technology and junior high school geometry integration from three aspect of integration theory, learning theory and subject ontology, and the detailed definition and description of basic concepts;3. The classification of the junior high school geometry teaching according to the content and function, and the systematic research and summarization of the knowledge ontology of junior high school geometry, from three levels of concept ontology, method ontology and application ontology;4. The summarization of suitable teaching modes of the concept ontology, method ontology and application ontology in junior high school geometry, and the ideal teaching design and corresponding design principles of junior high school geometry in an ideal condition;5. The specific diagnosis ways, principles and classification methods of the common integrating points in junior high school geometry teaching, and their corresponding solutions and teaching strategies;6. The proposition of two basic exploring teaching modes, "multi-media environment" and "network environment", through the analysis of teaching features in information technology environment, and the further explanations of the two modes by case design.
