With the rapid development of education informationization and the new curriculum reform of elementary education in our nation, the related research and practice of integrating information technology into curriculum has become increasingly prevalent and deep. Under such circumstances, to explore the integration from a specific subject perspective has great theoretic and practical significances. Because junior high school is an important stage of elementary education, English learning at this the stage lays foundation for the cultivation and development of students' comprehensive language competence. However, there exists some obvious drawbacks of our nation's English teaching at present, such as teaching methods take too much time and efforts, teaching effect is rather low, and students' English comprehensive ability are comparatively poor. Thus to explore integrating information technology into curriculum from the perspective of English teaching in junior high school will not only have great practical significance and guiding effects on the reform of English teaching, but also meet the needs of promoting the new curriculum reform of elementary education and education informationization.This paper selects R middle school in Shanxi Province as the object of case study because of its representativity. In the process of research, qualitative research method and quantitative research method are both adopted. English teachers and students in junior high school are main research object. Literature method, questionnaires, interviews and observations are the main research methods used to present and investigate the status quo of integration in the selected school.This paper is altogether divided into five parts. The first part introduces the background, purpose, significance, and content of the research, generalizes and analyzes the relevant researches at home and abroad, and sketches research design. The second part defines the key concepts in the research and explain the relevant theoretical basis. The third part analyzes the present situation of integration in case school from three aspects. The fourth part analyzes main reasons leading to the existing problems in the integration process and puts forward corresponding strategies to promote the integration from perspectives of both school and teacher. The fifth part concludes the content of the whole paper and make reflection on this research.The research finding are listed as follows:Firstly, integration of information technology and English curriculum in case school is mainly realized through multimedia-assisted English classroom teaching.Secondly, the integration have greater influences on transforming teachers' teaching style than that of students' learning style.Thirdly, the main reasons leading to the existing problems in the process of integration are as follows:deficiency of high-quality English teaching resources, lack and misleading of education technology training project, misunderstanding of connotation and objectives of integration, and confining integration to demonstration class.In order to promote integration in case school, some strategies are proposed from the perspective of school and teacher respectively. They are strengthening the construction of school-based English teaching resource center, expanding education technology training project, deepening teachers' understanding of integration, and enhancing teachers' informationization teaching ability to realize normalization of integration.
