The Survey On The Use Of College Teachers' Teaching Method

With the development of economy and society, in particular the rapid development of science and technology, the quality of higher education has aroused widespread attention over the world. In the course of development of higher education, the use and reforms of teaching methods play an important role in training higher specialists. The traditional-style teaching methods have been unable to meet the goal of cultivating creative talents, therefore, teaching methods reform has become the consensus of the world.Therefore, this study took college teachers'teaching methods using as the direct object, using the ways of literature analysis, questionnaires and other qualitative and quantitative research methods, to systematically study the status quo of university teachers' teaching methods using, the, causes and suggestions. First of all, in, a discussion was made in the basic theory of college teaching methods, especially in the meaning and characteristics of college teaching methods, and the interpretation of teaching methods, then on this basis, "College Teaching Methods status quo" questionnaire was been made. At the same time, using self-compiled questionnaire, by taking the students and their teachers of the Harbin Polytechnic University, Tianjin University, Southwest University, Yunnan University, and Kunming University of Science, and to investigate their "satisfaction on the college teaching methods using", "Common types of teaching methods ", "effect of the teaching methods" "knowledge of teaching methods" and "the important reasons which affect the quality of college teaching", as a whole as well as professional, etc. on different aspects of a statistical analysis of them. From this study, we draw the following conclusions:1.Teaching method, Q&A method, and presentation are still the main college teaching methods; but such as reading-guide method, experiment method, and discussion method are used too little;2.68.1% of the university students'satisfaction on the teaching methods using are general, showing that the use of teaching methods did not reach the ideal state;3.65.8% of the university students think that the effect of college teachers teaching methods are general, lack of artistic, thought-provoking, unable to meet the requirements to innovate students creative ability;4.68.6% of teachers can realize the significant impact of teaching methods on students, but as much as 80.5% of them rarely learn and study teaching methods;5.76.1% of the students think that teachers use teaching methods for students learning and ability has an important influence and role;6.Teaching method issue is recognized an important reason which impacts the quality of college teaching by both teachers and students.On the basis of the survey, this study summarizes three factors which lead to the status quo of college teachers'teaching methods using:first, the school's physical environment, teacher, and teaching management play basic and fundamental constraints effect on teachers'teaching methods using; Second, the deviation of teacher's own teaching philosophy, their teaching skills level, as well as the lack of sense of responsibility are the reasons that they can not use teaching methods properly and reasonably; last, some students who has the utilitarian value and are failure to adjust traditional learning way promptly are also the impact for teachers to choose their teaching methods.This research breakthrough the limitations of the study for the specific teaching methods in the past, using self-made questionnaire to investigate the whole current situation of College Teaching methods, causes and countermeasures, then using SPSS to analysis results. This study enriches the college teaching theory and the theory of college teachers'teaching method, and provides reference for educational reform. The study gives some suggestions to improve the status of college teachers' teaching methods using:improve the school education management system, upgrading of teachers' teaching philosophy and teaching skills, and correct students learn values and transform their learning ways.
