The Study Of Kindergarten Teachers On-the-job Training Demand In Shanghai

As an important approach to teachers' professional developing, teachers on-the-job training is paid more and more attention. When concerning the question how to improve the training efficacy, the study of training demand which is the first step of training becomes more and more important. The characters and reasons of kindergarten teachers on-the-job training demand in Shanghai are studied in this research. The differences of on-the-job training demand among different arrangement teachers are expatiated, which can be reference to improve the pertinence and validity of on-the-job training.Questionnaire and interview method are used to study kindergarten teachers on-the-job training actuality and demand in Shanghai. Nineteen boroughs and fifty-one kindergartens are covered in the 418 shares questionnaire. This research shows kindergarten teachers on-the-job training actuality and consciousness in Shanghai, and compares demands of kindergarten teachers from different kindergartens with different school ages and different major background. Still, the discrepancies between principals and teachers on teachers on-the-job training demand are discussed in the interviews.It is found that on-the-job training is approved and demanded by kindergarten teachers in Shanghai. The demand characters are following: on training content, dominant and operable contents are strongly needed; on training form, passive acceptance and instruction are required; on trainer, those with abundance practical experience are more popular; on training time, working hours are better chosen.According to the results, advices on training content,training form,trainer and training time are explained expecting to improve the pertinence and validity of kindergarten teachers on-the-job training.
