New curriculum reform in rural basic education stage has been carrying out for eight years.Due to the restriction of geographical conditions, economy, culture and so on, in rural areasEnglish curriculum reform is far from the requirements advocated by new curriculum teachingidea. Although the teachers understand and accept the idea, while the rural English teachers arefumble ceaselessly in practice, how to put new education concepts into effective teaching behavioris still plaguing the teachers. This paper is based on the ministry of education issued "the full-timejunior middle school English curriculum standard" in2002, selecting BinChuanXian thecountryside junior middle school English teachers as the research object. It mainly adapts theliterature analytic method, questionnaire method, interviews and classroom observation to inspecttheir teaching adaptability in the new curriculum implementation, anglicizing influence the causeof the countryside junior middle school English teachers’ teaching adaptability, putting forward theproposal to help rural English teachers improve teaching, to adapt to the curriculum reformdemands.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part: introduction. Mainly analyze the selected topic background, research problemsand significance, concept definition, research review and the research methods.The second part: Elaborate the countryside junior middle school English teachers’ teachingadaptability theory foundation. Including: English teachers should have the ability, the teachers’professional development, and teachers’ role.The third part: Investigate new curriculum implementation BinChuanXian junior middleschool English teachers teaching adaptation to the present situation. With teachers as thebreakthrough point, the basic situation of the investigation and analysis of the countryside juniormiddle school English teachers’ understanding of the concept of new curriculum and the teachingbehavior and the study way on the ideas and behavior to adapt to the situation and teachers’ ownquality to adapt to the current situation of new curriculum reform.The fourth part: Analyze the problems and the causes of the countryside junior middle schoolEnglish teachers teaching to adapt to. And an analysis of the causes of influence from six aspects: teacher education conception change is slow, lack of action consciousness; Teachers’ age structureis unreasonable, teachers’ professional quality is low; Teachers lack self development power anddo not take the teaching reflection; Schools and departments did not attach enough importance toteachers to adapt to the new curriculum reform. At the same time teachers evaluation system is notreasonable; There is a problem about Junior high school English new teaching material, which isnot suitable for rural students. Teacher training has failed to meet the demand of the countrysidejunior middle school teachers’ professional development.The fifth part: Put forward to promote the countryside junior middle school English teachers’teaching adaptability. Research shows that, in general, the countryside junior middle schoolEnglish teachers in teaching the new curriculum reform belong to the group of weaker adaptability.So put forward the following advice: Build the strong atmosphere of new curriculum reform,enhancing the consciousness of teachers actively adaptation to the new curriculum reform; Englishteachers raise their professional quality; Improve teacher training content and way andstrengthen school-based training; Develop "school-based curriculum", solving the problemsexisting in the junior middle school English teaching materials; Cooperate learning schoolconstruction, creating a good learning atmosphere; Change the teaching evaluation mechanism,strengthening the countryside junior middle school English teachers’ teaching adaptability of newcurriculum reform.
