| With the extension of quality education and new curriculum reform, people pay much attention to art education. However, in rural area, where the basic education is very weak, the art education becomes the weakest part of education, which is originated from the deficiency of the teacher.The research object of this paper is D county in Jilin province. This paper in detail investigates the situation, the work condition, the present situation of teaching & researching and the training of art teachers in rural compulsory education stage of D county. There are some problems of art teachers in rural compulsory education stage of D county:the deficiency of the teacher; the elder age of the teacher; the quality of the teacher must improve; the level of the art teaching should improve; the training of the art teacher should make batter. With these problems, I suggest that improve the rural art teacher's incomes and status to stabilize the teaching staff; innovative the supplementary mechanism of the rural art teacher to enrich the teaching staff; strengthen the training of the rural art teacher to improve the ability of adapting the new curriculum reform; promote the exchange system of the rural art teacher to improve the total level of the rural art teacher. All the four countermeasures and suggestions want to help D county set up the high quality teaching staff, help the rural art teacher in rural compulsory education stage of D county practice smoothly and effectively, help the students'moral, personality, aesthetic consciousness, perception, emotion, imagination, thought and creation develop healthy.As the development of the society and the demand of comprehensive quality talents, people pay much attention to the cultivation of comprehensive quality and healthy personality. Therefore, in the context of constructing the harmonious society and developing harmonious education, we can believe that art education in rural area will develop equally and harmoniously.
