During the transition from exam-oriented education to quality-oriented education, subjects on strengthening testing the students'abilities have become hot issues in the exam for the entrance of higher middle school these years. Explorative problems are one of the newest testing types. This kind of problems can not only develop students'abilities of creative thinking, intuitive thinking, applying knowledge, but also arouse students'interest. In this way, learning math is not a boring formula, but a tool for solving all kinds of problems. One of the most important explorative problems is existence research, which demands students to make full use of the known conditions to imagine reasonably and bravely, discover rules, draw a conclusion. It's very helpful to train students'logical reasoning ability, analogical inductive ability and application of basic knowledge.This article expounds the characteristics and meaning of existence research problems and makes a survey on solving existence research problems by junior high students. It also compares the differences between boys and girls when they solve these kinds of problems. There are four chapters. In Chapter One, it introduces the definition of existence research problems and expounds the historical background of how math explorative problems are put forwards. In Chapter Two, it expounds the characteristics of existence research problems and comparison between these problems and other explorative problems. Chapter Three is of the great importance. It makes a survey on the obstacles when junior high students solve this kind of explorative problems and also surveys how the junior high boy and girl students solve the problems. It compares and analyses the differences. What's more, it finds out the reason. Chapter Four is the conclusion part and the reflection on existence research problems now.
