The Changes Of Modern Chinese Way Of Life And Their Influence

The purpose of this thesis is to explore the change of the way of existence ofcontemporary Chinese people and its impact from a philosophical angel of view, andthen puting forward the dominant values which can guide the change of the way ofexistence of contemporary Chinese people, and promote the full realization of thehuman themselves and the overall goals of Chinese modernization. This thesisconsists three parts: introductive remarks, mainbody and conclusion.In the part of introductive remarks, I expound the theoretical and practicalsignificance of the thesis’s topics; the present situation of research at home andabroad; this paper’s research framework, the difficulty of the research and possibleinnovations.The main body constitutes five chapters. Among them, the first chapter is thedefinition; the second, third, fourth chapters reveal the change of the way ofexistence Chinese people from each period; the fifth chapter reveals the complexpicture of the way of existence of contemporary Chinese people from all period. Themain content of this part is as follows:Chapter1: the philosophical definition of the way of existence. To reveal thechange of the way of existence of contemporary Chinese people and its impact froma philosophical angel of view, we must first define the philosophical way ofexistence. Firstly, this chapter reveals the meaning of existence from two sides of the"foundation" and the "significance ", and then answers the question of the meaningof the way of existence from the "essence" and the "content".Chapter2: the Chinese people’s "authoritized existence" in traditional societyand its contemporary implications. Before the analysis of the way of existence ofcontemporary Chinese people, we have the necessity to analyze the the Chinesepeople’s "authoritized existence" in traditional society. To analyze this way ofexistence, we must first reveal the pyramidical social hierarchy in traditionalsociety.The reason is that this structure is the key of the way of the "authoritizedexistence" having stretches for thousands of years but still affect contemporaryChinese people. The way of the "authoritized existence" has its own basiccharacteristics on relationship of the individual and nature, individual and social,personal and others, the individual and individual self. The emergence of the way of the "authoritized existence" has its economic, political, and cultural roots. This wayof existence has adverse effects of Chinese people towards the existence by ability:the value orientation of the authority-based; conservative attitude in pattern ofbehavior; step control in way of governance.Chapter3: contemporary Chinese "materialized existence" and its dual impact.At present, contemporary China is in a "double turns" period of social transformationwhich is transforming from the planned economic system to the market economicsystem and from traditional agricultural civilization to the modem industrycivilization; in a eriod of accumulation of material wealth so as to create a materialconditions for comprehensive development of Chinese people.This is why thecharacteristic of "material dependence" about Chinese people’s existence is veryobvious.So some moden Chinese people’s way of existence is "materializedexistence". The way of the "materialized existence" has its own basic characteristicson relationship of the individual and nature, individual and social, personal andothers, the individual and individual self. This way of life has emerged in theindividual and nature, individual and social, personal and others, the individual andtheir own basic characteristics. We should understand the "materialized existence"double effects.Chapter4: the fundamental trend of the way of existence of contemporaryChinese people--"existence by ability". To summary of the history of Westerndevelopment experience and lessons, we can easily find that the West has been moreemphasis on capacity building; capacity issue is a central theme in the Westernprocess of modernization, while traditional Chinese society was more emphasis onthe moral construction, and relatively neglected capacity building.This is also thereason of modern China had been outdated."Existence by ability" is an urgent needfor the development of the practice of China’s modernization, and it is an inevitablerequirement of the development era of knowledge economy. This chapter discussesthe bacis content, the requirements of generation and the positive impact of the wayof "Existence by ability". As for the basic content,"Existence by ability"requirements that to obtain the foundation of existence, to get the stage of existence,to get the value of life by ability; as for the requirements of generation,"Existenceby ability" requirements to establish valual ideal of “competence based” in culturevalue, to establish system which is conducive to everyone ability to give full play, to creat a social environment of "making a living in his own ability".Chapter5: complex picture and its surface of the way of existence ofcontemporary Chinese people. The way of "existence by ability" has emerged itsclue, which stands for the fundamental direction of the Chinese way of existence.But this does not automatically mean that other way of existence has beendisappeared. The reality is: the trend of "existence by ability" is more and more clear,but at the same time,"authoritized existence","materialized existence" and"existence by ability" are still intertwined, and together constitute a complex pictureof the way of existence in contemporary China.The way of change the complexpicture is to build the ability of society to promote the generation of "existence byability". This chapter firstly analyzes the reans of this complex picture, expains thespecific surface of complex picture by the combination of the three media languagewhich is very popular, and analyzes how complex picture of the way of existence haschanged the mental world.The conclusion part describes the prospects of the way of existence in the futuresociety. How do we give a forward-looking procect of the way of existence in thefuture society about Chinese or whole human being which is based on the trend of"existence by ability"? This paper has done a comparative analysis between Marx’stheory of discourse on the "free personality" and the trend of the way of "existenceby ability" of Chinese people.In this way, we find a solution that "elegant existence"is the human’s way of existence in the future society.
