Research On The Problems And Solutions Of Primary And Secondary School Teachers' Continuing Education

This paper has made a comprehensive survey on the continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers in Northeast University and some parts of Inner Mongolia by questionnaires, and through an analysis of 827 valid questionnaires as well as interviews, it has deeply dissected the problems in the continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers in those areas. Based on the above investigation, this paper has also made a conclusion that what the specific problems are, such as the shortage of funds in the continuing education, lack of appropriate incentives, teachers'lack of enthusiasm in participating in the continuing education, the improvement of training base and teaching and research group, problems in the teaching methods, unreasonable curriculum provision and lack of effectiveness of courses, the contradictions in teachers'continuing education which impacts on the effectiveness of continuing education, the conflicts between teachers'various needs and real teaching conditions, problems with teachers themselves and the management and so on. Here is the solution this paper has worked out for those specific problems, namely, making corresponding regulations and management as well as effective incentive, continually strengthening the development of training base to insure a good condition for teachers'training, strengthening teachers'awareness of continuing education and training them in different kind of ways, perfecting curriculum provision, teaching method and evaluation system, continually reinforcing the continuing education of primary and secondary school teachers based on the idea of lifelong learning, ensuring that teachers have enough time for continuing education, adjustment of the form of continuing education, etc.
