Practical teaching is an important part of engineering education and also the important approach to improve the students overall quality and practical ability. Practical teaching, which is the only way to train applied talents, pays a key role in training engineering talents in teaching universityAt present, research on practical teaching appears to be more important because of a good many problems in our country. And research on the model of undergraduate practical teaching in teaching university looks shot nowadays, my study is thus provided with innovation and practical significance."Model" is a simple and direct description for the internal mechanism and external relationship to some items or entities, and is a symbolic and logic assumption to relatively simple status. As a structural and simple expression, model comes down to target, strategy, method, evaluation and their organic integration. Practical teaching model is a systematic generalization of the key factors structure and time-space sequences to the practical teaching.Based on analysis to practical teaching model "modularization + individuation" in Mechanical Design of Hunan University of Technology, the study outlined the background and significance, research purpose and content, the right research methods, arranged research process, the summary to the relevant documents, the definitions to the relevant concepts. It also gave a discussion about the development history of Mechanical Design in Hunan University of Technology, the features at all stages of teaching practical model in Mechanical Design and the process of building practical teaching model "modularization + individuation". It in depth analyzed the aim orientation, mode and function guarantee of practical teaching model "modularization + individuation", summed up characteristics of the model as well as the practical effect by the implementation of the model. It pointed out the guided significance of practical teaching model "modularization + individuation" on that of others reform. It emphasized that strengthen practical teaching is the only way to train practical talents in teaching university and called on everyone to enhance our undergraduate practical teaching in teaching university with modern educational idea, and then show the effort to improve our undergraduate education, to train more applied high-level talents.
