Concerning the whole world, the competition of comprehensive nation power is fundamentally the competition of science strength as well as the capacity for innovation, ultimately, it is the competition for talent and education competition. In 21 century’s Chinese higher education, the basic concepts and the basic theory and method in physics constitute the main component of scientific quality for students. There are some property of basic and saturated as well as coordinated between disciplines. In the past 20 years or so, the engineering university physics education in China have launched a number of significant re-forms to the old inflexible education model targeting at increasing flexibility of teaching.it is essential to study the engineering university physics education status and summarize experience and lesson of these reforms for deepening the reform of higher education.Firstly, the paper introduced the research background at home and abroad, then discussed the position and role of physics education in technological university. As an example, the physics education between ours and American’s are compared with the actual investigation by the method of comparison of the two countries’curriculum-set up, teaching method and teaching techniques of physics education in the macro level. This paper is focused on the teaching content and the teaching method of engineering university physics education. The textbook of 12th Five-Year Plan and the typical college physics teaching material in our country are studied as well as the American’s. It is compared with our latest text books which is from the terms of the updated rate, writing structure, the evaluation, and related teaching resources. The essential difference between the two are pointed out. The paper makes a comprehensive study on the whole content of the knowledge and the particular section of textbook.Through the above study, the paper summarizes the feature of the Sino-US engineering university physics education and some suggestions are proposed which considered from the situation of Chinese physics education. There is a good use of lessoning and absorbing the essence of foreign physics education, which paves the way for providing some helpful suggestions for Chinese engineering university physics educational reform.
