People who suffer from obesity become more and more in China.Several surveys into students' fitness all over the country show that the rate of college students who suffer from obesity is increasing rapidly and obesity seriously affects the fitness,physical function and psychological health of college students.This study tests the fitness of some college students who suffer from obesity,analyses the results,discusses the reason why they become fat,and suggests reasonable approaches to losing weight.The conclusion drawn from the study and suggestion for fat students to lose weight can be summarized as the following:1.The results of fat students are worse than that of the average students in the tests of vital capacity,anaerobic power,VO2max,step experiment,grip(male),trunk bending forward in sitting(female) and vertical jump.This indicates that the fitness condition of fat students is worse than that of the average students in the function of heart and lung,level of staying power,explosive power force of legs,strength,pliability,and so on.The result of blood fat tests shows that the fat students' situation of lipids is worse,and some students' blood fat goes beyond the ordinary scope.2.Fat students have bad dietary habits and lifestyles.They always take fattening food, sweet food and Snacks.They are always picky about the food and they only eat what they like.An unreasonable dietary structure,a vast amount of high fat food,an unhealthy lifestyle of sitting for a long time and sleeping too much have led to obesity.3.Fat students have realized the importance of physical exercise,but it is difficult for them to practice it.The frequency of having physical exercise is low and the time they spend on physical exercise is little.Some fat students never have physical exercise.These students didn't develop a good habit of having physical exercise in middle school and on weekends.4.The physical education for fat students in colleges and universities are not enough.They couldn't offer fat students varied and colorful extracurricular activities and special physical training environment.The organizing system of physical activities ruins fat students' interest in physical activities.The lack of space,equipments and teachers also affects their enthusiasm of having physical exercise.5.Colleges,universities and the department concerned should devote major efforts to developing health education,and help the students to develop healthy and reasonable dietary habits and lifestyles.They should deal with the fat students differently and encourage them to join some physical fitness organizations,to develop and improve their physical exercise habits and ability,to have strong spirit of bearing hardships and standing hard work,to have strong affection,and enthusiasm towards physical activities.They should also improve physical training device and provide good environment to fat students, and help fat students to have scientific training methods.
