In books or magazines, it is not hard for us to acquire such information that in present employment market there has been an increasing demand for talents who are capable of fluently speaking both one's native language and a foreign language on various occasions. In the flux of talents exchange, language skills and occupational skills have been gradually integrated into a complete entirety and each one is an integral part of it. All the factors such as China's accession to the WTO, world economic integration and globalization have contributed to the already fierce competition for versatile talents. China's successful application for the EXPO 2010 and successful bid for Olympic Games of 2008 adds more stimulation to the intensive competition for talents. Currently, there is an urgent demand for more well-educated versatile talents in China and as a result, people have come to realize the importance of having a good command of foreign language. Non-English majors in China make up the majority of English learners and shoulder the arduous task of cooperation and exchange with the outside world. As far as the present situation of college English teaching is concerned, it is far from satisfactory. The increasing enrollment of college in China pushed EFL teaching confront with new challenges. Traditional teaching is not suitable for new situation any more.Bilingual education dated from 19th century in US. Bilingual education in China began from 1990's, and at present with ten years'development, most schools have opened bilingual curriculum in many cities. Bilingual education presents the vigorous development in our country now. However as a result of the factor of historical influence and present conditions, there are many problems and difficulties in bilingual education in China.Based on the relevant researches both domestic and abroad'the thesis deals with the obstacles and strategies of bilingual education in Chinese university. By means of the case study of Taiyuan University of Technology, some problems and solutions are demonstrated. This thesis studies the limited factors on the development of bilingual education in Chinese University. Through the case study, the strategies can be found out, this thesis has a detailed and specific study from different perspectives. It has profound meanings on the improvement of teaching quality and bilingual ability; it also facilitates the sound development of bilingual education and enhances the power of competitionIn this thesis, many methods are used, such as literature methodology, interview method, observation method, questionnaires and so on. Through the investigation and study of bilingual education in Taiyuan University of Technology, and after summarizing massive references, many problems in bilingual education are pointed out. In Chinese university, such as the acceptance of new concept, teachers'quality, teaching method and teaching environment. Careful analyses of reasons are made, and a new way to resolve the exited problems in bilingual education in Chinese University is proposed. That it is, utilizing theory on bilingual education and carrying on the analysis about the comparison of successful cases of domestic and foreign bilingual educations, enhancing understanding, strengthening teaching quality, building the teaching environment, choosing suitable teaching materials etc. In this way, outstanding bilingual teachers are trained; bilingual education in Chinese University is promoted. It not only serves the society, but also provides the theory support.
