| The profession of teachers is one of heavy workload and high pressure, and therefore teachers are a group where high percentage occurrence of occupational burnout is found. The occurrence of teachers' occupational burnout not only exerts serious negative impact on the teachers' psychological and physical health, hence impeding the professional development of teachers, but also endangers the study of students, hence adverse to the growth of healthy psychological and physical conditions of and the formation of students. The harm caused by the occupational burnout of teachers has raised popular concern on the issue of the occupational burnout of teachers. The chief teachers of classes are a particular group of teachers, whose major tasks are to manage the class and undertake the key responsibility of instilling ethics into students. Chief teachers are also influenced and monitored by students, parents and the media. Therefore a chief teacher's tasks have become multi-dimensional cultivating activities that involve schools, students, parents and communities. Therefore, chief teachers face more pressure than ordinary teachers in the work of educating and teaching, hence more occupational burnout experienced than ordinary teachers and bigger harm caused. However, research aimed to analyze the cause and course of formation of chief teacher's occupational burnout and then to propose related resolutions is still not much.This research focuses on the tasks of chief teachers, analyzing the formation course of chief teachers' burnout and exploring its cause, and then proposing related resolutions. Therefore this research is quite positive and practical. I experienced chief teachers' occupational burnout both as a fresh hand and as an experienced chief teacher, which impedes the full play of my educating capability. Therefore, I hereby have myself as the research object by reviewing my own experiences as a chief teacher in order to explain by self experiences the phenomenon of the occupational burnout of chief teachers, which shall be pretty convincing. Besides, as a teacher of Political, I possess pretty strong linguistic presentation ability and have accumulated quite some first-hand materials, including diaries, notes, correspondence between me and students, greeting cards and work summaries etc. which I use in my research in a descriptive style, hence laying the foundation for a descriptive research. Therefore based on the experiences of myself as a chief teacher and by adopting the substantially descriptive research style, by reviewing and reflecting on work cases of classes A,B,C and D where I worked as the chief teacher and by descriptively reproducing the true life scenarions, I display the whole course of formation of chief teachers' occupational burnout: when taking over A and B classes, I was fresh as a chief teacher, hence leading to non-adaptation and causing the initial occurrence of burnout, and when taking over C and D classes, I was already an experienced chief teacher and I dedicated myself fervently into the work, hence leading to over exhaustion, depression and fatigue, and ultimately burnout. The major causes of chief teachers' occupational burnout are analyzed as follows: fresh chief teachers come across burnout due to non-adaptation to work; experienced chief teachers come across reinforced burnout due to such elements as the school, overload in work and psycho state and passive personality restricting self ability etc. Therefore it is hereby concluded that the occurrence of occupational burnout is an inevitable course of a chief teacher's work and chief teachers' occupational burnout will seriously harm the work of chief teachers and the growth of students. Therefore resolutions shall be found to help chief teachers to minimize or overcome their occupational burnout. |
