The popularity of intellectual economy and the establishment of study-oriented society call for great demand for secondary vocational education and offer it unprecedented opportunities. Meanwhile, more and higher requirements are also put forward, which brings unprecedented challenges to secondary vocational education.Under such circumstance, how should local secondary vocational education catch the opportunity to deepen revolution and keep pace with the time? This paper has made an exploration on this question. Firstly, it reviews the development history of secondary vocational education in China and introduces experiences and representative education models in foreign countries in this field, which is expected to work as a reference for the development of local secondary vocational education. Secondly, setting city Y as an example and basing on the history and reality of local secondary vocational education, this paper, combining with the tendency of world vocational education, analyzes the existing problems in local secondary vocational education. Finally, this paper explores feasible countermeasures in local secondary vocational education from the perspective of capital investment, faculty enhancement, open-running of school and improvement of students'source.
