It is inevitable that modern educational technology will be in conformity with the English education of senior middle school. The direction idea that modern information technology should be applied to the foreign language education practice is a systematic teaching design ideology. Its main purpose is to improve the study method of the students and the teaching method of the teachers.Nowadays, the senior English class is inherent with some problems, such as the disability to deal with the abundance of new words and contents and the difficulty in helping students to develop linguistic skills with what is learned. This thesis is an attempt to solve the problems of difficulty with autonomous English teaching and learning models, which aim to raise efficiency by changing the class structure with the help of integrating information technology to improve the senior English class. In addition, the model is also an attempt to an ideal English teaching and learning models in China.The application of integrating information technology in foreign language teaching will inevitably lead to the reform of teaching thoughts and teaching methods. How to improve the ability of studying English by modern teaching technology, and the ability of applying English. What are the advantages and disadvantages of applying the modern technology and how about its effectiveness in contrast to traditional class teaching. All these are hot topic study in recent years. The present study shows that students are the masters of studying and the constructers of knowledge. The thesis also probes how to apply integrating information technology to the curriculum.The thesis includes six chapters:The first chapter expatiates the backgrounds and the significances of this study and puts forward its characteristics and creativities.Chapter Two begins with the definition of integrating information technology and the curriculum, and gives an overview of the development of integrating information technology. It also describes the theories related to the modern technology into the curriculum.Chapter Three discusses some practices about integrating information technology into the curriculum, and probes some models of teaching or learning English as a second language.Chapter Four is an introduction of the procedures of the experiment carried out in the study and the result. In chapter Five, the author lays emphasis on the teacher's role when multimedia and net is used to assist the senior English class.Chapter Six draws an conclusion.
