The Study And Implementation Of Tao Xingzhi's Creative Education In Pei Tsin High School, Malaysia

Tao Xingzhi was the founder of creative education in the modern China. His thought, basing on the theory that "knowledge begins with practice and results from practice", aims at training a true, good and beautiful person in real live with collective spirits. Taking life as teaching substance, he stressed on putting teaching, study and practice in one and vigorously advocates to liberate, train and develop the creative ability of children. His thought is with distinctive Chinese features and is at the same time a new educational theory that reflects the developing tendency of modern education theory. Pei Tsin High School of Malaysia makes use of Tao Xingzhi's creative education as practical guiding significance to develop student's creative ability.Tao Xingzhi said that "every place is a creative place , everyday is a creative day, and everyone is a creative one." He regarded creativeness as an essential factor of mankind. He also regarded the cultivation of the power of creativeness as the main objectives of education. He further regarded the cultivation of a better quality and quantity creativeness for students is the highest aims of his teaching.Pei Tsin High School would carry out its policy as follow:(1) To study and practice the creative education of Tao Xingzhi and let the board of directors of the school, teachers and students to accept collectively the creative education of Tao Xingzhi.(2) To build up a creative activities platform with a fresh, creative cultural atmosphere from the establishment of school-culture and classes-culture.(3) To guide students to know how to learn, wish to learn and willing to learn by creative, motivative and constructive teaching method in classes .(4) To carry out various extra-curriculum activities.(5) To form a creative and constructive team of teachers who would establish the vision of creative education for students.(6) The creative education of Tao Xingzhi which is now implementing in Pei Tsin High School, with the following purposes:(a) to establish the special features of the school;(b) to enchance the competitiveness of the school;(c) to cultivate a better personal behavior for students;(d) to motivate the great interest of learning;(e) to cultivate the sense of independence among students;(f) to be more positive in learning; (g) to enable teachers having a more lenient attitude with loving cares;(h) to cultivate creative manpower scientifically;(i) to manage children easier if parents possess the new ideology of education.
