Movie and television literature is the combination of film literature and TV literature, and it is a new form of literature. Although the history of movie and television literature is far from that of poetry, novel, prose and drama, yet, by drawing upon the huge influence of film and TV on the present social life, it has developed swiftly and violently in the last century, and has become an important branch of modern literature. It seems that once we abandoned the movie and television literature, the modern literature would be incomplete."Chinese is an important tool for communication, and also an important part making up human culture"; the new Chinese curriculum standard brings Chinese into a cultural level for the first time, however, such movie and television literature rich in culture and influencing people for life is not enough, which is a regret in Chinese teaching. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen teaching on movie and television literature, which is the demand of era development. Launching movie and television literature appreciation will provide a new growing point for Chinese teaching innovation. The aim of our paper is to give a systematic illustration for valuing movie and television literature teaching in junior-senior middle school by using the existent study achievement, and to analyze its significance and style characteristics, then to probe into its teaching approaches.In our opinion, with the development of Chinese teaching innovation, teachers should treat movie and television literature the same as what we do to poetry, novel, prose and play. Only if we teachers attach importance to it and improve our self-cultivation on movie and television culture can we stimulate students'interest on movie and television literature and their Chinese accomplishment. We discuss the issue with four parts:The first part is about the interpretation of movie and television literature teaching under the new curriculum. The premise for its teaching is its definition and requirement.The second part is about the significance of movie and television literature teaching. In practice, because movie and television literature is not tested in entrance examinations, most of teachers would abandon teaching it or just explain it at will, even just showing the film to students, causing most students not getting a clear idea when graduate. We can hardly see students write play in writing, and this type of literature almost die out in the entrance examination for college. Nevertheless, movie and television literature has become a new style of literature; it should be an organic component for Chinese teaching in middle school. Thus, researches on movie and television literature become essential, and we should pay great attention to its significance in teaching.The third part is about the classification of teaching materials and their stylistic features. In this part, we classify the existent teaching materials and sum its main stylistic feature. And then we will acquire a better teaching effect.The last part relates the teaching approaches of movie and television literature under new curriculum. There is no definite approach in teaching, and we should seek after effective methods. The first approach is called thing-in-itself perspective, that is, grasping the constitutive specialties of movie and television literature. The second approach is called undertaking theories—looking forward to field of vision and experiencing dialogues. The third one is called read-write approach. There are two types of class design—reading-appreciation and writing.
