Research Into The Development And Utilization And The Universities' PE Cultural Resources In The West Regions

The traditional sports cultures of the western peoples have their western characteristics which have played the vital role in bringing honor to the peoples'sports cultures, prompting their development, and enhancing national unity and so on. However, in western universities'PE curriculum, the lively scene can't be seen. Since long ago, the uncultured sports ideas, the stage-oriented sports view, the physique-centered educational view, and the ingrained athletics-sports-centered view——all of the erroneous understandings make the western peoples'traditional sports hard in the universities'PE curriculum development. In developing universities'PE curriculum cultures of the West Regions not only physical training and health care knowledge should be instructed but also sports cultural resources should be emphasized. With entertain- mental value and literacy value, the western peoples'traditional sports should be introduced into the universities'PE curriculum, which is not only a vital supplement and development to the western universities'PE curriculum but also an enormous enrichment of their content. Moreover it is an embodiment of setting up human-based educational idea and fully promoting quality-oriented education.The paper mainly uses literature research,questionnaire and interview methods. Using curricula theory,pedagogy, psychology, sports theory, and other related discipline theory, the paper deals with concept, qualities, classification, developing ways and principles of curriculum culture resources, and some problems in developing curriculum culture resources.The research indicates that the PE curriculum cultural recourses refer to the basic conditions of PE curriculum materials and their implement, the origins of factors forming sports curriculum and necessary direct implementing conditions, and all the cultural recourses which can be used and avail to realize PE goals.The universities'PE curriculum cultural resources in the West Regions can be divided into four kinds: (1) by existential form they are classified into resources of material form, spiritual form, and institutional form.(2) by spatial region distribution, they are classified into the Loess Plateau, the Qinghai-Tibet Plain, the Pamirs, the Bashu sports cultural resources.The development and utilization of PE curriculum cultural resources in the West Regions can be divided into three kinds. The first is the development of material resources, including multi-dimensional training of which goals are to improve the PE teachers'resources-developed consciousness and skills; rationally constructing and optimizing the structure of the universities'PE curriculum cultural resources in the West Regions; establishing information-managed storehouse of the universities'PE curriculum cultural resources in the West Regions. The second is the development of the institutional PE curriculum cultural resources, including the organizational forms and methods of PE curriculum, the organizational institutions, the rules and regulations, the management system, and the correlating laws etc. The third is the development of resources of the thoughts, emotion, creativity, capability, value views of the sports curriculum superintendents, the teachers, the coaches, the instructors, the student and their parents and educating goals; in addition, the development of the media information resource, like sports meetings, athletics competition, sports science and technology, sports music, sports art and other sports business activity. With the profound development of the universities'PE curriculum reform in the West Regions, the PE curriculum culture resources can more and more receive the most sports people's attention, which is the necessary supported-platform for the universities'PE curriculum reform, the guarantees of the PE curriculum being put in practice in the largest scope, and the solid foundation of achieving the universities'teaching goals.
