Sexual Morality Education Of Adolescence In The Course Of Society Transformation

At present, China is seeing lots of great changes in many aspects. During the recent twenty years, China has successfully transformed from plan-centred economy to a market-oriented country.China is now in a historical period of great transformation. The main culture has been replaced by the multiculture. People are confronted by a series of conflicts which are concerned with old and new ideas, especially the idea about sex. And this conflict is very conspicuous in adolescents. Under this special circumstance, cultural conflicts between east and west bespeak the uncertainities of sex values from a subjective perspective. Therefore, many adolescents feel very confused, which causes many unexpected problems in sexual morality and demeanor. However, it is a pity that in many cities in China, middle or small, especially in rural areas, there are no sexual education courses arranged for students in lots of middle schools. Although some schools have arranged various courses sbout sexual education, yet their main foucs is about physiological health. These courses can be divided into three forms:1.By means of penetration, that is to say, teachers will impart a small proportion of sexal information in the course of biology and physical education. 2.Through school doctors` explanation, this practice is impartial to male, but prejudice against female. 3.The main content of sexual education is the knowledge of sexual physiology and sexual phychology'while sexual morality is neglected. As we all know, sexual morality education is far from enough, which cannot meet the needs of the growth of adolescents.The study concerning sexual conceptions and sexual morality is liable to limit its foucs on college students, especially the students in medical colleges or junior middle school students. Because the special group of people is limited, it cannot represent the conditions of adolescents very well. In order to compensate the previous insufficient study, this time we concentrate our objects on senior students. This thesis is based on an investigation which was carried out among 535 students of senior schools in He Chi, Guang Xi. From different angles we have investigated the present conditions of sexual morality education, the information source influencing the formation of sexual morality and the helping system and so forth. By means of this complete and deep survey we did a research about sexual morality and conceptions. Moreover, as far as the existing problems are concerned many suggestions are proposed.According to this investigation the sexual education now in the senior schools of He Chi has two imbalances:One is the imbalance of educaation content. Teachers always spend much more time on physiological knowledge and pay little attention to the all-around development of sexual morality education, sexual intellect education, sexual physical education and sexual beauty educayion, especially ignoring the education of sexual morality. The other is the imbalance of school's development. In some schools sexual education is far from enough, what is more, in some schools the sexual education has not even started. As we can see from the sexual conceptions, it has a tendency to become more and more multicultural. Sexual conceptions in the adolescents` mind are rather complex and traditional and morden elements also work to some extent. Society, school and family should cultivate students'noble character and, therefore from this perspective treat sexual education of this special group. Only when this tough nut-sexual morality in sexual education is cracked can we cultivate students` healthy attitude towards sex and establish healthy outlooks on sex, more importantly, make our society more scientific, more cultivated and more pleasant, and finally clearify and promote the whole society`s morality.What is sexual morality? Sexual morality is, in a certain society or a group of people according to its general principle of morality, a moral principle which can adjust people's sexual relationship and behaviour. Sexual morality is indispensable to our society and in the meantime, it is a demonstration of social morality on sexual problems. The education of sexual morality is the most difficult and the most important part in sexual education. The fact is that sexual morality education is a key step in the growth of adolescents, so we must try to provide adolescents with a complete and scientific knowledge and help them to realize their potenital in thinking and judgement.Sexual morality education in China belongs to the field of spiritual civilization. It can speed up the pace of spiritual civilization on conditions that each middle school makes plans to promote sexual morality education. More importantly, it will be more healthy to the students` minds, will help adolescents to form correct outlooks on life and values, and also will make great contributions to a harmonious society.In order to achieve our goals we must base our work on the ground of creativity. Sexual morality education of adolescent should include the following four points: 1.education of sexual duty 2.education of adolescent's responibility 3.education of chastity 4.guide to the communication with the opposite sex. Authorities in the school should do the following work while implement sexual morality education: strengthen the sense of responibility of sexual morality; arrange sexual morality courses related to cases; improve school website and establish sexual education website; co-operation of school, family and society.
