Teaching is an ancient career. Since man existed in the world, education subsequently came into being, so did teaching. However, before education had not been divorced from the labor work, those who took up teaching career were always groups or individuals in all walks of life, such as a clan's leader, wizard, the elderly, adult or parents. After its separation from the labor work, mental workers gradually parted from physical laborers. The intellectuals, such as political leaders, officials, churchmen, artists and scholars, many of whom undertook teaching or took a part-time job in ancient schools, formed a group of ancient teachers. The author of this thesis attempts to show a complete summary of the formation of teaching groups, their features, their educational activities and social status in ancient oriental countries and tries to do some research on these topics. By doing these, this thesis aims to present to the readers a clear picture of ancient oriental teaching groups and provide some help for the historical research of teachers and education in ancient part.The main body of this thesis can be divided into five parts in terms of individual country.The first part: the research on groups of teachers in Babylonia. Archaeological findings about the schools in Babylonia during its earlier period is employed as a clue for probing into the emergence, composition and the activities of teaching groups in ancient schools during its silver age, among which the scribes and the scribe teachers are important parts.The second part: the research on groups of teachers in ancient Egypt. It focuses on the home-educators before the emergence of schools in Egypt and groups of teachers in different kinds of schools during the period of flourishing regimes, such as teachers in Royal schools, teachers in the government affairs training schools, priests and monks in temples and scribes in scribal schools. The third part: the research on groups of teachers in ancient Hebrew. Hebraic education is closely related with the development of its religion and politics. The main executing body of Hebraic home-education and school-education is composed of Yahweh, priest and Zachariah, genearch, monk teachers, Jewish litterateurs and rabbins.The fourth part: the research on groups of teachers in ancient India. The education in ancient India was controlled by religion and the teachers were also attached to theological system, among whom qualified scholars in Brahman, Brahmanical Guru, monk teachers in Buddhist temples were all included.The fifth part: review. Review the choosing of the above groups of teachers, status and features and summarize its historical significance.
