At the present, our society is occupying the information time, the elementary education also facing information tide impact. The education information took an item of systems engineering, directly will relate the future talented person's knowledge structure and the ability accomplishment, will be implements the education forall-around development the important action. In order to realize the national strategy of Educational Informationalization, it is crucial to develop the Information Literacy (IL) of the principals serving in the elementary and middle school. As a foundational step accordingly, investigating and studying the actual state of the IL of principals working in the elementary and middle school is of highly practical meaning in the whole process.This thesis focuses on the actual state of the IL of principals serving in the urban elementary and middle school in Hubei province. As a premise, the author makes clear the true meaning of the Information Literacy at the outset. On the ground of having made vast basal investigation on the current state of the IL of the principals through the methods of interviewing and questionnaire, this study not only thoroughly analyzes the disadvantageous factors hindering the development of the IL of the principals, but also creatively proposes corresponding resolutions.In addition to the introductory chapter, this thesis falls into five parts. Chapter one elaborated the topic research background, the object, the goal and the significance as well as the research technique .Chapter two defines the meaning of Information Literacy of principals serving in the elementary and middle school. Chapter three consists of a statistical analysis of the data collected from the investigation on the IL of the principals; a further probing into the obstructing factors; and then drawing out seven possible reasons fox these problems. In chapter four, of central concern is to put forward five practical Countermeasures to the problems exposed in the research. The final chapter is a conclusion, points out the outcomes as well as the deficiencies of this study; suggests other respects deserving further studies.
