Research On Functions And Expanding Of College Students Associations

Currently, along with the unceasing thorough of educational system reform and variety of the university student's learning, living and thinking modes, college students associations have mushroomed in campus and been playing more and more important roles in colleges on education, administration, living and entertainment, etc. Now, the students associations have become the second class for improving synthetic diathesis. Based on academic results, this article seeks to explore the function and development themes of the college students associations.This article take the exploration of college students associations' meaning and development history as the starting point, and take the investigation of basic function and function extending as the focus content, and take the discussing approach of extending function as the standing point, it systematically analyses and researches Chinese college students associations' actuality, basic function and function extending themes. The main content of this article are four parts :Firstly, the connotation and development history of college students associations. This part analyses the connotation and development history of students associations. It considers that college students associations are student organizations for students' self-management and self-development. It reviews the development process of college students associations for 100 years, and it analyses five phases of development after liberation, and it generalizes them as three high tides and two windingsSecondly, the current situation and basic function of college students associations. This article mainly analyzes the types, characteristics and existing problems of students associations. Basing on the foundation, it describes the basic function, including moral education, ability prompting, knowledge improvement, knowledge widening, rights protecting and citizen community fertilizingThirdly, the challenge and functional expending of college students associations. Based on the changes of domestic and international situation, college students' demands and the existing problems, this article analyzes the challenge that students associations confront. Moreover, it set forth the key points of functional expending, i.e. educational function enhancement, democratic management improvement, and function in community.Fourthly, main approach to functional expending of college students associations. The approach including strengthen ideas and scientific orientation,basic principles college students associations should follow, construction of institution system of college students associations, improve the existence and development capacity of college students associations, further investigate the mechanism of associations' development and further strengthen the activity of college students associations.The article has certain opinion and innovation of the basic function and the development which referred to the students' associations based on the achievement foundation. It mainly contains the following points: One, the analysis and summary to the development of the students' associations, we can divide it into five stages, summarize it into three high tides and two windings. Two, the discussion referred to the function of the associations' development from three stratification planes which include the student, the university and the harmonious development of the society. It proposes nurture function, the democratic function, the social function, the service function in order to promote and develop the students' associations. Three, it proposes a systematic, practical and feasible way and measure to development and innovation of the students' associations based on other people's research. It established the theory and the practice direction for the construction and the development of the students' associations.Certainly, the article also has some insufficiencies, especially the theoretical analysis of the students' associations is insufficient. It needs further consummates and the deepening.
