The Research Of The Recessive Fuctions Of The College Students Associations

Along with the constant deepening of of Chinese educational system reform and a series of new changes in the ways of students learning, lifestyles and thinking, college community springing up in the rapid development plays an increasingly important role in the Quality-oriented Education and the students' self-education, self-management and self-service now. College community is not only an integral part of the second class, but also a carrier of communication and activities in campus, and has an important position for the improvement of the university students' ideological and political quality, scientific and cultural quality, innovation ability, cooperation consciousness and social adaptability.First of all, this paper reviews and summarizes some researches on college student community: first, defining of college community; second, characters of college community; third, the role and function of college community; fourth, the theoretical basis for this study.This paper, taking J school for example, from the perspective of organizational sociology, analyze the types, features and functions of J school student community, under the idea of informal organization. On this basis, this paper discusses the implicit function of college community. Throughout the course, there are three methodologies being used: participatory observation, deep interviews and literature research.Based on the different content of the community activities, J school students community is divided into five main categories: (1) theoretical research (2) science and technology (3) literature and art (4) sports competition (5)social commonweal. In the features, the college community has the common with the non-profit organizations at the same time, as well as its own characteristics: the voluntary nature of the organization generation, the extensive features of its members, the autonomy in running mechanism, the consistency and cohesion of development goals, the flexibility of the group activities. This paper describes both the positive and the negative functions of college community respectively. The positive functions include the development of sense of competition, the consolidation and innovation of professional knowledge and skills, the meet of students psychological needs, the promotion of the students socialization process, the fosteration of the sense of democratic participation, service and rights. The negative functions include: First, self-management of college community may cause the "randomness" and tend to bring the deviation on the principle and direction. Second, small groups tend to appear, which will influence the horizontal connection and the community activities' development in depth. The implicit function of college community is just hiding behind the students, schools and the social needs. The functioning process is just the process it meets main body's need. Its implicit function is reflected in: first, pursuit to mode students of modern personality; second, effectively expanse the college students quality education; third, serve the community, participate in practice, and cultivate the civic sense; fourth, the career-oriented function.Based on the above analysis and discussion, the author propose an idea of functioning construct of college community in final: first, establish the scientific concept as the primary consideration and grasp the direction of community development; second, thinking the system construction as basis and ensure the constantly development of community; third, focus on the cultivating the backbone of community and try to build community cultural brands; fourth, culture leading at the core, nurturing the advanced spirit of the community. According to own practical work experience, the author summarize the existing research and propose this ideas, with a view to provide some suggestions for the students management and practice in colledge.
