Researching On The Status Quo And Strategy Of Ballroom Dancing Teaching In The Universities Of Hubei Province

The physical dance has been experiencing a prompt development for over a decade in the universities of Hubei Province and nowadays it has found its way in class there. It is well received among the students in view of its functions of"exercise"and"dance",as well as its value of communciation, entertainment and body strengthening . In spite of these, it also arises some difficulties,for example,how to determine its equipment , the space,the teaching content and measures, and the arrangement of teachers,all of which still remain to be explored. This paper is to make a survey about the present situation of the physical dance,make a comprehensive analysis of the factors for its sustainable development ,and then it will provide resolutions for the above problems. It aims to contribute theoretical basis to the development of the course.By making a research into the present situation of the physical dance in the universities of Hubei Province ,I have come to draw conclusions as follows :1This course,which is adopted by most universities and has become popular, is taking on an upward trend, for it was extremly attractive to the students from the very beginning and thereby has been popular.2 The total teaching schedule ,varying from college to college in different semesters, ranging between 36 and 72, is hard for the students to command the basic knowledge and techniques. 3 90% of the teachers who are givinging the course,didn't major in the physical dance when they were in university but transferred from the related fields such as gym, eurythmics ,etc.4. No unified and standard teaching material is available , and the syllabus in use now is based on relative reference materials and practical situation. 5 Most universities don't make use of multi--media to supplement and deepen what...
