Introspection is widely accepted as a critical factor that has a great effect on the professional development of teachers. In order to make teachers better at their teaching and promote their professional development, from May of 2005 to January of 2006, a series of introspection activities were carried out among the teachers of Chinese in No.1 Middle School of Jinchuan Company. All of the teachers of Chinese have taken an active part in this activity, during which, they cooperated with the school well and carefully wrote teaching introspection according to their teaching reality. After these activities, they have gradually improved their teaching levels and ability. Consequently, it is necessary to study the introspection activities carried out among the teachers of Chinese by taking No. 1 Middle School of Jinchuan Company for example.Elaborate preparations had been specially made before the school carried out the teaching introspection activities. On the basis of establishing some regulations, the school organized all the teachers of Chinese to get well trained, and made some propagation and mobilization as well. To begin with, the activity was first carried out among the junior teachers of Chinese, and then, it was carried out gradually among all the teachers of Chinese. All the teachers in No.1 Middle School of Jinchuan Company have written a great deal of teaching introspection, which focuses on the following: introspecting the success, the faults, students' opinions, problems and suggestions, teaching wits, teaching designs and so on. The writer of this thesis has made some collections, sorts and analyses to this activity and interviewed some teachers of Chinese and administers of the school.When carrying out teaching retrospection, the teachers of Chinese have paid great attention to bringing students' main role into full play and leading students to changing accordingly, mainly on the following aspects: affection, recognition, method, capability and so on. Teaching retrospection has not only helped teachers become mature in their teaching, but also changed their ways of working, teaching notion, teaching methods and roles as a teacher. A lot of teachers have gradually become professional in their teaching.However, their also exist some problems in teaching retrospection. There is some misunderstanding about teaching retrospection, and it is necessary and urgent to improve teachers' quality. As for these deficiencies, the author comes up with some certain suggestions.The teaching retrospection of Chinese teaching in High School is carried out when China is actively putting the reform of basic education curriculum into practice. The teachers of Chinese in No.1 Middle School of Jinchuan Company have done some experiment and exploration, with a lot of effective outcome already made. It is believed that we will make even greater achievement in the future as the experiment goes on.
