The accustomed faculty reward system based on the outcome of research as award and evaluation criterion. While the reward system reinforced the research function of colleges and universities,it also brought decreasing of teaching level, blundering atmosphere of scholarship, scarcity in cooperative spirit.Basing Boyer's view of four domains of scholarship, the author designated the definition of scholarship productivity, considered that the development of colleges and universities scholarship was boosted by the scholarships of discovery, integration, application and teaching, and further suggested faculty reward system should be based on general evaluation of scholarship productivity.This paper considered that the content of scholarship productivity included publication, the process of scholarship activities and unpublished outcome, and thought that the estimation of scholarship productivity was based on originality, quality and contribution. In terms of the mission of different colleges or universities, this paper also established a new model ,namely R=f(W1D, W2A, W3I, W4T). W is the weight of scholarship based on the mission of different colleges or universities. D, A, I, T is the form of scholarship of faculties based on their strength and interesting. Each faculty's scholarship productivity, namely SP=W1D+ W2A+W3I+W4T. This new model was consistent with the mission of colleges or universities, was based on people's needs and was flexibility. In order to provide the sustainment of new policies carrying out effectively, the author put five countermeasures: to exercise administrative leadership, to gain the support of teachers, to reshape the academic culture of campus, to offer the promoting stimulus.The author believed the new model could provide helpful suggestion for the reform of faculty reward system of China.
