"Teacher professional development" not only is needed for the development of the times, also is the urgent demand of raising the teacher s' professional status. What's important, it is the critical factor to decide the new round of basic education curriculum reform to the success. Therefore, it is particularly important to study the professional development of teachers, especially in the county (county-level city) areas. Seeing that, this papers take junior school Chinese teachers in county-level city — Xiangxiang for the main study, using questionnaire , depth interviews and theory analysis. Following the main line of "what" -- "why" — "how", the paper tries to investigate the topic in both reality and theory, which is to embody the theoretical value and practical significance.In details, Paper is divided into five parts: the first part describes the issues raised and research process briefly;the second part explores the theory, including the teacher profession, the professional characteristics of Chinese teachers and professional development of teachers with the content and stages;the third part introduces the present situation, from the existence problems of teachers' constitution and their professional development realities;the four part is to analyze the reasons of these issues;finally, based on the problems and reasons, some recommendations are put forward, with a view to help the teachers and managers in frontline.
