This essay focuses systematic study on two art textbooks published by Hunan Art Publisher.Comprehensive analyses are given to contrast the two textbooks ranging from compiling principles, internal structures, and contents to ways of presentation. Consultative conclusions will be drawn for the edition of art textbooks.The methods applied in this essay includes: contrast analysis, documentary material application, questionnaire, and data analysis.The essay consists of four parts: Part I-the significance of textbooks study. Part II-historical review of publishing and usage of art textbooks in China.Part Ill-focuses its study on the two textbooks.
