The problem of teachers' occupational stress has aroused high solicitude of academic circle recently. Taking vocational high school teachers in the Pearl River Delta-Area as the object, teachers at other high schools in the same area as objects for comparison and a comparative analysis of the two as the research model, through such methods as interview, questionnaire investigation, and statistical analysis, this research aims to reveal the differences between the two, analyzes the reasons for such differences and proposed several countermeasures to how vocational high school teachers can alleviate their job pressure.The investigation's result shows that, for teachers of vocational middle school in pearl river delta: 1 18% of them feel that occupational stress is very large; 44% of them, great; only 7% of them ,less or very little . This situation is still very stern, although it is better than that of teachers of normal middle school in the same region; 2 Their occupational stress roots in seven factors: students themselves and students' parents; Social position and Treatment; Personal factors; Social expectation; Work load; Examination record; Organization management. The factors are different from those that affect the teachers of normal middle school in the same region; 3 The higher their titles and their ages, the less their occupational stress. This is nearly contract to teachers of normal middle school, which is almost increase as their titles go up and their age increase; 4 There is difference between the occupation stress of the male and female teachers in the vocational middle school.Finally, the researcher suggested some measures to release the teachers' stress, such as the reformation of the teacher evaluation system; bettering the person-to-person relationship; reasonable expectation; perfecting the teacher employment system; mental health education; counseling; promotion of teachers' vocational values, and so on.
