The teaching of editing a composition is an important part of the education on Chinese subject. But the problem of "High-cost, Low-efficiency" always exists, and until today, it still can not be solved fundamentally. It has influenced the quality of Chinese teaching badly, and prevented the cultivation of excellent talents.In the process of studying and rethinking reality, the author found out the root causing the inefficiency in writing teaching lies in the instrumentalism. Under the impact of the simple and one-sided instrumentalist thought trend, the composition teaching departed from the essence of educating people and embarked on a deformed development way, a lot of intractable problems and defects appeared in the teaching practice, at last, the composition teaching was led into the quagmire some trains of inefficiency and inextricably bogged down in. Therefore, some trains of thought about the teaching composition reform are suggested by this paper.1 .Composition teaching concept: educating people should be taken as the aim, subject regression should be taken as the prerequisite.2.Composition teaching original concept: the students' life and practice should be taken as the origin of the writing teaching.3.Composition teaching values: humane harmony should be taken as the fundamental.4.Composition teaching thinking concept: innovative thinking should be taken as the leading factor.5.Composition teaching linguistic concept: common saying and conventional phrases should be changed into varied and colorful phrases.6.Assessment concept of composition teaching: conservatism and narrowness should be changed into democracy and openness.Some tactics in optimizing the composition teaching are put forward in this paper:1) Optimization designs of the teaching aim.2) Optimization choices of the composition topics. 3)Optimization of the composition direction.
