The thesis argues that the nucleus and soul of the quality education is to foster students' personality, therefore, our education is one on students' personality. The personality education is that in accordance with the need of the social development and the demand of educational modernization educators create a harmonious, pleasant and democratic educational setting by arousing and guiding educatees' inner instructional needs, standardize and organize many different kind of instructional activities in a purposeful and planned way in order to train them to be the social subject who can carry out cognitive and practical activities consciously, initiatively and creatively. In short, the personality education is a practical activity to cultivate and develop educatees' personality.The thesis consists of three parts.Part one elaborates the instructional theory on human personality.Part two analyses the students' current situation of mathematics studying in senior middle schools and probes into main causes which result in the lack of human personality of middle school students.Part three sets forth, on the basis of practice, the approaches to cultivate the personality of middle school students in mathematics teaching, i.e. to change ideas, to pay attention to foster students' learning habits initiatively, to optimize teaching methods, to create instructional situation, to carry out problem-probing learning actively, to consummate teaching assessment, to bring teachers' guiding function into full play correctly, etc.
