It is an innovation in choice of subject, and it also has practical and immediate significance that introducing knowledge management idea into the field of science research management and using this idea to construct social science achievements evaluation system (SSAES) and having interdisciplinary theoretical discussion on knowledge management. From the characteristics and functions of social science achievements (SSA), this paper sets the goal, method and construction principles of the evaluation system and divides achievements into research-oriented, popularization - oriented and data-oriented categories, from which some common characteristics and differences are found. The SSAES has been constructed and perfected on all aspects, aiming at its imperfect aspects.Knowledge management-oriented SSAES puts more emphasis on the production, diffusion and application of knowledge, its roles in science research management, and the functions of implicit knowledge. The application of knowledge management idea and method aims to further tap the implicit knowledge in SSA and quicken.the materialization process of SSA. SSAES emphasizes the quantitative function of evaluation indicator according to function. Therefore, it enhances the standardization, sclent if icalness and rationality of the SSAES in knowledge system structure. Through experts' appraisal, the select ion of indicators and the processing methods of data, value indicator, scientificalness indicator and difficulty indicator are gradually broken up, which will lessen the subjectivity in SSAES and help to realize the scientificalness of social science management.
