As the advanced professional elites cultivated by our country, postgraduates play an important role in the country's"Scientific and Educational China"policy. They will be the important human resource to occupy a commanding point of the word's knowledge-based economy in the future. By comparison with other groups, postgraduates have a distinct advantage. As well as the older postgraduates have the advantages in general, the majority of whom have worked a period of time in the community, with rich social and work experience, should be hired by many employers. However, under new situation, the employment situation of the postgraduates is also grim. The difficult problem of employment of the older postgraduates has been an indisputable fact. Many older postgraduates have to face unemployment because of their age after they graduated. By comparison with the older postgraduates, the old job seekers that neither advantage age nor employment skills are discriminated based on age more severe. Age discrimination in employment problem has been serious damage to the healthy development of socio-economic, which it have caused a tremendous waste of human resources, and increased social instability factors of disharmony. Therefore, promoting massive labor force to find a job, which will be beneficial to not only build a harmonious society, but also optimize human-resource allocation and promote the development of the socialist economy healthily.Except the introduction and the conclusion, the paper mainly includes three parts. Firstly, the paper defines the subjects and the relevant concepts. Secondly, it analyzes age discrimination in employment of the older postgraduates'present situation through the questionnaire survey and the case study. Thirdly,it analyzes and demonstrates the reason which the older postgraduates are discriminated from four different sides. Finally, the paper looks for countermeasure how to solve the older postgraduates age discrimination problem from the law, the society, the school and individual angle of view.
