Graduates employment has been one of hot topic problems, while discrimination in employment makes it more aggravated. Graduates face a status of graduation-unemployment. Related investigations show that the rate of college students suffering from discrimination in employment is up to74%. China’s college graduates are precious human resources. Discrimination in employment impacts the graduates optimizing the distribution of resources and full employment, misguide college graduate’s employment ideas, and affect social stability. Hence, it is significant to analyze and classify discrimination in employment, their consequences and the reasons leading to these discriminations in employment combined with theories at home and abroad and statistical analysis, and find out corresponding countermeasures for stimulating our tertiary and optimizing human resources.This paper aims at problems existed in graduate employment, and takes discrimination in employment as research object through theories in economy and society to analyze discrimination problems. Statistics from several universities in Sichuan province show that there exist some universal discrimination in employment and explanation definitely hereafter. The effects of discrimination are unfolded on individual college, home and society. Then reasons leading to discrimination are elaborated from macro aspects such as employment market and personnel selection in enterprises, micro aspects based on Becker theory, Phelps model and sociological theory, which support following research. At last corresponding countermeasures are listed, which indicate that ideas of gender equality should be propagandized, China’s household registration system should be reformed, adhere to the fairness of education and employment, colleges should change tertiary ideas, enterprises should fulfill their social responsibility, government should strengthen the construction of laws and legislation and media should guide the idea in employment. Merely a single measure cannot eliminate discriminate in employment, multi-measures should be applied at the same time.The research in this paper has certain significance in analyzing root causes of discrimination in employment, forms existed and eliminating discrimination in college employment.
