The loving of music is rooted in the nature of the children and singing is one of the direct and ordinary ways to express the feelings for the children. Singing is the one of the most important fields for musical activities for the human beings. It is also one of the most natural ways for the human beings to express and communicate feelings. Singing is the way for the human beings to express their various emotions such as happiness, angry, sadness etc. Meanwhile, it is also an essential part for everyone's childhood life. The children will show their different types of emotions by their sweet singing, which is an important way to show their ability and gain the sense of success.Singing can bring infinite joy to the children and it is a vital part of their daily life. Hence, singing should be an essential part to musical education for the children and become the core content for the preschool musical education. In fact, most of the children like singing but some of them do not know how to sing and their singing is not beautiful. There are other children who do not like singing at all and do not want to participate in the singing activities in the classroom, let alone singing in front of the classmates. What is the reason of this phenomenon? This article considers 10 kindergartens in Wuhu, Anhui Province to study current musical education, especially the singing education and potential problems. We analyze the reasons for these problems. Meanwhile, we try to explore new methodologies of the preschool education based on the age of the children in these kindergartens. The objective is to motivate the interests of the children in singing activities, the basic skills in singings and creative activities at the same time in order to further overall development of the children.The dissertation is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is the literature review. It introduces the reason for this research and provides relevant definitions in the related study. We also give an overview of the preschool education in singing in recent years including the methodologies and intuitions, which is the theoretical baseline for this dissertation.The second chapter is the results based on the questionnaire at Wuhu, Anhui Province. We analyze the preschool musical education in singing from various perspectives, such as types of songs, contents, melodies, rhythms, structure and the objective of the preschool singing education, types of organizations, mythologies and infrastructure in this field and participate in the singing education. The result shows that there are some positive aspects in preschool singing education at Wuhu. Firstly, the teachers realize the importance of the singing in the preschool musical education and types of methodology are relatively diverse. However, there are some negative aspects, for example, the over-emphasis of emotion for the objective of the preschool singing activities; the number of singing activities is relatively small; the quality of the preschool teachers varies a lot which leads to insufficient activities in this field.The third chapter further considers basic questions in preschool singing education including the value convey, which is more important, value in art or value in human beings? What is the objective of the preschool singing education? By thinking and discussing these problem, we hope to further analyze the objective, principles and methodologies of preschool singing education.The fourth chapter proposes the policies for improving preschool singing education. We provide some suggestions in preschool teachers, parents, kindergartens and the society. For example, improving the rationale and methodologies of preschool teachers, enhancing the guidance and management of the kindergartens etc. We need to seriously put more emphasis for the family and the kindergartens and proposes relevant policy support. The overall objective is to develop the preschool singing education.
